This isn't one of those crappy made up holidays like National Boss day or Eat beans day. This a legit holiday and one worth celebrating and dates back to a very important day in 1933...
On April 7, 1933 President Roosevelt signed a law that was the first step in repealing the prohibition. This bill allowed people to brew and distribute beer again in the United States! FDR exclaimed "I think this would be a good time for a beer" after signing the legislation. This was the first time in 13 years that you could legally drink and purchase beer. Following the signing of this bill, 1.5 million barrels of beer were consumed that day!!!! Can you imagine it being illegal to drink beer? What a crazy world it is!
